New Goodies for a New Year!

Another busy day today...

Went to the movies and saw..

Excellent movie, in fact, one of the best movies I have seen in a very long time. Will make you laugh, and cry, but will leave you feeling warm and fuzzy.

After the movie we had another family Christmas celebration to make up for the blizzard and being snowed in...almost all caught up with family, only one more celebration this month and Christmas is complete.

Then when I got home, I had 2 packages waiting for me.

One was my Pioneer Woman Cooks cookbook!!!!

The other was my new quilt and pillow shams.

So I washed my new quilt and put it on my bed, got my pj's on, got a fire going in my fireplace, and devoured the cookbook from cover to cover. If you haven't seen it yet, GET IT! The photos, the stories, the recipes....it is one of the best cookbooks I've ever owned. It is full of recipes of foods that you will actually cook, with ingredients we all actually use! Plus, clear and fabulous step by step photos. I can't wait to get cookin...right after I sleep...

P.S. Now have to decide what color to paint my room...more on that later.

Wedding~Crab Legs~Movie~and Ice Cream!

Oh what a day today has been!! If you have been reading my blog you already know the story, if not, you can catch up here. My daughter got married today. It was a very small (just us) ceremony. It was short and very sweet and they are happy so I am happy.

Then to celebrate we went to Joes Crab Shack for Crablegs...my daughters favorite meal, then to see Alvin and the Chipmunks, then it was ice cream! It has been a wonderful day spent with those I love the absolute most in the world!

2010~It's All About Me =)

Well it's that time of year again.. Time to make our resolutions, to eat less, save more, to clean the pile of clothes off the exercise bike in the corner and actually use it for the purpose in which it was made. We've all done it, and most of us throw them out the window by February 1st. This year is different for me. I am making 2010 the YEAR for ME....all about ME!

I will be 40 in the summer of 2010 and I plan on this being the BEST year ever. So this year I don't just have one resolution, I have many life plans! Here are my top 10...

1. I will continue my healthier lifestyle of eating better and exercising more.
2. I will continue working on my degree.
3. I will make more time for me. (even if it's just a hot bath)
4. I will make a budget and stick to it.
5. I will finally work on improving my house and make it a home after 7 years of living here.
6. I will have more fun.
7. I will take small road trips to local fairs and festivals with my kids.
8. I will continue to learn and enjoy being alone for the first time in my adult life.
9. I will give back.
10. I will try to read at least one book each month.

White Christmas.....

....Be careful what you wish for!!

We ended up with a blizzard!!! Snowed in on Christmas Day!!! It was an interesting Christmas to say the least. We finally got out of the house today and had Christmas with my sister and mom. It was very nice to be out of the house, definitely not the traditional Christmas though. I have many blessings to count this Christmas; I found a job, I have a beautiful new granddaughter, 5 amazing kids, one son inlaw with whom I've also gained another beautiful granddaughter, and I am less than 2 years away from completing my degree!!! Life is good. =)

Wow...I am so behind Posting here!!

I FINALLY found a JOB!!!! I started on Monday and I love it!!! It is back where I used to be a few years ago and I am so excited!!!

I had a scare this week and ended up spending the night in the hospital. Extremely low potassium and extremely high blood pressure...very bad combination! So even though I have been exercising and I've changed my diet for the better, now I have to make even more changes. I'll try to get a post up about everything I've learned, and recipes I will now be using so I can track my progress and share with everyone.

Grandbaby is doing GREAT and growing like a weed!! Here are a few pics of all the kids over the past few months. We've been so busy, between their school, my school, a new grand baby, and a new job..that I haven't had time to update! Hope everyone is well and ready for Thanksgiving!! I am looking forward to the holidays.

I'm Back!!

I closed my blog down for a while, trying to put the pieces of my life back together. Actually even thought I deleted the blog, but I was so happy to come back and see the option of "UN-deleting" it!! I've missed blogging and all the people and other blogs!! So, I am back! I probably wont be updating often, but I will be around.

To update my life.....

I am back in school, finishing my degree in Health Administration. I am still a single mom of 5 and plan to stay that way for a very long time. Not saying never, but for right now, I am happy with my life. I am very busy with all the kids, and my grand daughter that is due on October 16th is coming THIS WEEK!!! My daughter will be induced this Thursday and I can't wait!!!

I am also working a temporary, but full time, job right now also, so between school, work, kids, and a new grand baby.... my head is spinning!! But, I can say, I am happier than I have ever been. I have let go of all the anger, we are both now focusing on the kids and making them the priority in our lives.

I hope to catch up with all my favorites in bloggy land over the next couple of days... I can't wait!!! I've missed you all!!
